What?

Our back yard, like so many others, backs up to the back yard of the house behind us. Our back-yard neighbors are very interesting.

We don't go out of our way to monitor their activities, but they are regular enough that we've noticed some habits. For example, they have a gazebo that they play cards and smoke in – rain or shine.

Extrapolating from the number of times we see them take out their garbage in the evening and during the day on weekends, we estimate that they take out their trash about twice per meal, and once per snack. The trash cans are behind their shed, and when it snowed they shoveled a path from the back door to behind the shed, for the express purpose of taking out the garbage. I would too, if I were making that trip 10 times a day.

Late in the day I was playing Zelda and Megan was reading a book, and we noticed from our living room window that two of them had gone to the trash cans, twice as many as usual, and it looked like she was shaving his back over one of the garbage cans.

Our back-yard neighbors are very interesting.

  2. Couldn't that constitute invasion of privacy? I guess not, since it's sort of out in public view...<br />

But still, the question is whether or not I want photographic evidence that I've seen my neighbors shaving backs in their yard. And the answer is no. If I had that picture I would have to put it up on the internet, and then anyone who wanted to buy our house - whenever that may be - could find that picture. And I'm not sure I would buy a house behind back-shavers.

  3. At least it was in their own yard. If I start finding back-hair in my own yard I'm going to have to put up a net along that section of the fence. Gross.

  4. Or they're old and have NOTHING better to do. For now let's assume that and try not to shudder.
