Weekly Winners #10

I don't think there is any question about it now: this little girl is a punk rocker.

Daddy's little punk rocker And when she's fast asleep and doesn't mind you moving her hands around, what else can you do but the Dr. Evil pose?

One MILLION dollars! Between the incandescent bulb, reddish brown walls, and sunset coming in the window, I was really digging the light in the bathroom, so I decided to try a quick self portrait.

Bathroom Self Portrait And the reflection fascination continues. I really wanted to get a picture of my camera reflected in my eye, but I think to accomplish that I'm going to have to get tricky with some reverse lens action or get a macro lens.

The Reflection Fascination Continues And lastly, "Why we can't have nice things." This is a KONG rubber toy; more specifically, one made of even more durable rubber than your average KONG for the "super chewer" … yeah.

Why We Can't Have Nice Things We can safely say that he chewed that toy a new … treat… hole.

  1. Kaname is already having to put up with you guys and your *fun*! LOL Course, she'll love it just like everyone else. Bless her for having the patience to let you torture her for photo - ops!

Moxie... well, maybe you should get him a toy made of steel?

And, the colors in your self portrait make you look eerie. What can I say. Is that what you were going for?

  2. #1 - Big laugh! Your perspective and insite is amazing and a true gift.
#2 - Redundant. Cute baby but moving on.
#3 - Was that a fisheye lens or did you just tell a big lie?
#4 - Wow, your eye color is so much like mine. Can see something square but can't make out a camera
#5 - How long did it take Moxie to destroy the Kong? Take a look at this site, lots of comparisons the the Kong toys: http://www.westpawdesign.com/product_categories/2/products/321-hurley

    Thanks for the laugh!

  3. Googled: indestructible dog chew toy

    My favorite threads:

Don't know if its true, but one of the things claimed is that the guy who invented the Kong toys did so to keep his dog from chewing on a harder toy (rocks!!).

  4. I don't own a fisheye lens. I wouldn't mind having one, but don't think I would get much use of it. Seems kind of gimmicky. I would much rather have a macro lens. Not sure why you're asking though?

  5. Fisheye would make the central focus of the picture seem nearer and move everything farther back from the focus. The picture puts extra emphasis on your nose. I know you don't have a big nose but the picture kind of makes it look like it sticks out more.

    Meh...

  6. You callin' me a bignose?

I think that's just a result of the composition. I would generally not be as close as it seems to the subject when taking a picture like this, zooming in as needed; which would result in a narrower viewing angle. But since it was myself I just held the camera up inches from my face and zoomed all the way out. Now that you mention it, my nose does look big.

    Interesting fisheye pics here: http://flickr.com/search/?q=fisheye&w=all
