Are you afraid of the dark?

The execution of this is horrible. That's what happens when you shoot a bunch of stuff based on a concept, and then don't look at it for a few days, and it's supposed to represent you *that day*. Oh well, maybe I'll re-do this one at some point, and try to do a better job.

When I was just a wee lad, one of my favorite TV shows was Are You Afraid of the Dark? I distinctly remember getting chills watching it, and sometimes having to remind myself that it was fictional.

I still kind of freak out when I know I'm the only person home and all of the lights are off. I'm always worried that the shower scene from the end of I Know What You Did Last Summer is going to happen to me.

I know. Very macho of me.

Juice

So I wrote before about how my computer died… sort of. The PSU was a piece of junk (but I did expect it to last longer than 2 months!), so I bought a replacement.

This is the new one, and it is so close to silent that you can hear the difference when you turn the computer on. I'm conditioned to push the power button and then hear the roar of the PSU fans spinning up… if this thing were any more silent it would be … silent.

Remicade

I believe this is the 2nd documented treatment of Remicade of project365 for me. I get it every 6 weeks (generally) but since I took a 16+ week hiatus, I'm sure I missed at least one.

This one was long overdue. My appointment was originally scheduled for March 12th, but due to some insurance complications — We chose to go without insurance for the month of March while waiting for my U Penn insurance to kick in, and get retro-active COBRA if an emergency came up, which thankfully it didn't — I rescheduled for April 8th.

Waiting nearly an extra month was kind of a gamble. Sometimes I feel like I need the treatment (Ha, saying this makes me think of Dollhouse, now!) as my 6 weeks approaches… so going 11 could have been painful. Luckily, I think it was pretty livable with some extra tylenol and not over exerting myself.

Decorating

Look who's been decorating?

Shadow

Taken in the stone foundation for our new patio. Finally, a home improvement project that doesn't involve me busting my back!

  1. Glad you were finally able to get long overdue the Remicade treatment. You mentioned not overexerting youself during the hiatus but didn't mention our ski trip during that period. I know you took it easy and I'm glad you were able to come with me. You didn't mention any pain though and I'd feel really bad if I thought it was a difficult day for you.

When I was a kid we listed to a radio show called InnerSanctum. Kind of like Outer Limits for radio. Started with a slowly creaking screen door that slammed shut (supposedly behind you) and then a scary story. Creepy yes, but I was hooked and listened every Friday night with my brothers and a couple of friends. I think my youngest brother did get nightmares but I don't remember having them myself. Who knows, maybe I did.

Like the decorating, is that something from your fraternity?

  2. So glad you can be back on schedule with your remicade- and glad you made it successfully through your hiatus :)

I like your pictures - always very creative!

(btw- you're missing the the "t" in decorating, in the pic title :p )

  3. Dad, I took it pretty easy on the slopes. No pain that I wouldn't have had to endure sitting on the couch at home; only some soreness the next day or two, and that's unrelated and welcome...

Mom, thanks. I try (most of the time!)... and I fixed the splelling arror.
