I'm turning into a TV Junkie

With this last week off, Meg and I watched the entire first season of Heroes (which I feel bad for discounting originally, but I'm thrilled that having not seen any of it meant I got to watch the entire season over two days – eliminating most of the anticipation), I've rekindled my love for Sports Night, and last night we even watched most of the first season of Weeds.

It's no big secret that I've lost the ability to watch live TV (other than football). I get all anxious and perturbed during commercials. With my DVR I can fast forward through them in just a couple of seconds. Such is the modus operandi when watching Scrubs, Criminal Minds, C.S.I., N.C.I.S., E.R., Dirty Jobs, Miami Ink, and whatever other shows we record that I'm forgetting. So much so that I would rather watch a recorded show while recording live tv than watch the live show.

I can tell that the season for new shows is over because all of those shows I mentioned above have stopped appearing as new episodes in our recordings list. And now that the season is over, I can catch up on shows that I've recorded all season but not watched yet (Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy, …)

I'm actually looking forward to spring. I like going outside and being active. I'm excited about going camping and hiking and fishing this year. I'd like to get a canoe trip in. Play – or at least go watch – some baseball. So I'm not a total lost cause. It's just hard to be motivated to go outside of my remote control's infrared range while it's 27 degrees outside.

I sort of promised you pictures from the weekend, but still managed to not upload them yet (or bring the memory card to work with me). I don't like breaking promises, so I did what any self respecting computer nerd would. I put a reminder in my PDA. Shortly before 6:30 tonight a little bell will sound and remind me to take my medicine, and clean the cat litter (that I should have cleaned yesterday but got sidetracked and forgot about). But then later, just before 7, another bell will sound reminding me to upload the pictures. And I will. I promise. Sort of.
