Chocolate, Yoga, Children. Commas optional.
There is a mountain of people's leftover Easter chocolate candy, and foot-tall chocolate bunnies in the candy basket at work. So much that it doesn't all fit in the candy basket and some of it is stacked on top of the water cooler. So far I've been able to maintain my self control, but I make no promises.
We did yoga this morning too, and it was the first time we'd gotten up early to do it. I can say without doubt that we're going to have to figure out a way to work it into our evening schedule, because the morning thing isn't going to last. Things might be different once we have kids and we end up getting up at crazy hours anyway, but right now it just feels crazy to throw myself out of bed 45 minutes early to do yoga.
It's definitely helping, though. We have both noticed that our backs feel less tense and – we're still just getting started – are sore in our arms and legs. Megan has always been pretty flexible, so she doesn't have much trouble with the stretches, but I get a nice burn in my hamstrings just reaching down past my knees with my legs locked. I don't exactly yearn for the days when I can sit on the floor and touch my head to my shins, but the mobility that would come along with that would be something I would welcome with open arms.
Tomorrow DadR is coming over to finish up the fan install and get the switches attached to the wall. After that we're babysitting the niece and nephew. I can't wait! I hear D can sit up all on his own now, and maybe, just maybe, C will actually talk to me! If I'm lucky, I'll even get a hug before bed-time. (Note to self: Bring the camera! Bring the camera! Bring the camera!)
