Help!

Help! My birthday is tomorrow and I can't decide if I want homemade taco's or Taco Bell for dinner!

A whole new level of geekdom

I've been reading a lot of GeekDad lately, and it's inspired me to take my geekyness to a new level. So while we were out tonight meeting some of Megan's coworkers for drinks, I slipped away to Radio Shack and picked up a soldering iron, some solder, and tip cleaner, and tonight I've gone to town on an old sound card I had laying around collecting dust.

My very first solder joints

I have to say I'm impressed at how well I did, considering this is the first time I've ever soldered anything!

Now serving number 42…

I'm starting to get the feeling there isn't going to be enough summer this summer. We're trying to put together at least 2 camping trips – one with Meg's family, and one with our friends – but ideally there would be more… camping by ourselves is fun too. We also want to make a point to visit my family this summer, as well as my Grandparents if possible. We've talked about trying to go see a Penn State game once the season starts, and visiting MomR's parents while we're there. There will be Labor Day and Memorial Day parties. My parents are coming up one weekend to see a concert and crash at our house, and probably bringing my brothers. Mom & Dad R want to come up and work on our fence soon, too. That's a minimum of 8 tied up weekends, for those of you playing the home game. Now add to that a weekend spent fixing whatever part of our house breaks next, and a couple of weekends of semi-intense re-landscaping. There really isn't any time to spare. There are 13 weekends between May 1 and July 31. And that's just the summer. In the fall we're driving to Detroit for Luke's wedding, and then 2 weeks later we're flying to Ireland for a week's vacation! So if you want to do something with us this summer, take a number!
