New stuff

Without an update in months, you may be wondering what's going on in our lives. Here then, is that update.

In three short days, we close on our house! As I mentioned previously, it's 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a full (unfinished) basement, and about an eigth of an acre – so a small yard, but way more than Moxie has had before! As you can see in the photos, there are lots of bright colors throughout. And we're going to be painting over most of them. The first week or so of our ownership is going to be lots of work; and you're welcome to join us. ;)

Of course this means we're back to packing things up, as much as possible any way. We're not in a terrible rush, because we want to get as much of the painting done as possible before we move, so that there isn't any furniture in the way, and to keep pet hair out of the wet paint. I can already picture Moxie with yellow paint all over his nose. Thankfully we have about a month overlap of our apartment lease and the time that we take ownership of the house. We also knew just how temporary our stay in the apartment would be, and never fully unpacked here – so there's already a lot of stuff ready to go.

It's hard to believe that in just a few short days we'll be home owners. I know I said the same thing about getting married, and I also know you can expect me to say the same thing when we have kids. Life is surreal! It's strange to think about how little my life changed while growing up when compared to what's going on these days. In the last year we've lived in 4 different places (5 for me), we've both gotten new jobs, got married, took a carribean cruise, and now we're buying a house and furnishings!

A couple of weeks ago I went back down to Salisbury to catch up with some old friends, and to go to Vernon's bachelor party. Vernon and Jennie get married next month, they're already in their new house, and they seem very happy.

We also recently helped Zach and Erin move into their posh new apartment… and they're getting married here shortly as well!

With what little down-time is left-over, I've been teaching myself Ruby on Rails, which is just another geeky web thing, to most of you. ;)
