Guilty pleasures

Authentic carne asada steak combined with a blend of three melted cheeses — pepperjack, cheddar and mozzarella — and a creamy Jalapeño sauce all folded in a freshly toasted tortilla.

Steak Quesadilla's. It's what's for dinner.

Taco Bell has got to be the metaphor for anything and everything I miss while on the diet. And unless things get dramatically better this week, I'm coming off of the diet starting with next Monday's dinner. I chose Monday because I think this weekend marks 30 days, and there's a Taco Bell in Suburban Station, so I can pick it up on my way home from work.

The magnitude with which I'm looking forward to my $3 fast food dinner is incomprehensible. I'm not even sure why, because we've been living here for 3 months and the only time I've gotten Taco Bell was when Megan went to Atlantic City and brought some back for me (the same weekend that I hung out with Zach & Adam and got some down in Delaware)… but it's been less time since my last quesadilla and now than it was between that one and its predecessor. It must be the lack of all things carb that's enhancing the desire.

Photo Wednesday #4: Better Late Than Never!

Hey, it's still Wednesday. I've still got time! You can't complain until midnight.

If you follow what I put up in the photo album, you've already seen these… but they're (she's) still cute as a button.

So you'll look at them again, and you'll like it.

Full Circle

I'll be here at the Free Library for at least another two weeks. Nothing else is finalized yet. It is likely that I'll be here another week or two after that, but at this point the duration is uncertain.

After I leave here, one of several options on the horizon is to send me down to Salisbury to do a ColdFusion project for Perdue – of all people. Contract not withstanding, I may be back in the same office, working in the same department, with some of the same people – and sleeping soundly at night knowing they can't make me work on the mainframe! For joy!

All jokes aside, I think it would be really fun. I left on good terms and it would be good to get back and catch up with some of my old friends – see who's still there and who else has moved on, check up on old projects, that sort of thing. Maybe I could even hit the links with a few of the guys if the weather is nice enough. One thing is for sure – it would be my first business trip that I felt comfortable going out and exploring the town, finding a nice place to get a beer and a decent dinner. And I know enough people in the area that I don't think I could spend an evening there without some company if I wanted to.

But as far as I know it's just as likely that I'll be working here in Center City, Philadelphia at another company, or somewhere in West Chester, or somewhere I don't even know about. So this is all hypothetical; which after last night's dinner discussion, Megan can attest as my speciality.
