Project365: 84-94

As I look back at the last 10 days worth of self portraits, one thing is painfully obvious to me: I need a haircut.

Taken during my birthday party with Megan's family. Our birthday party, actually. Since our birthdays are so close, we share a party.

I'm not sure how I took half a dozen portraits without getting my face in focus. It's hard to tell on the lcd screen, I guess. So here's a picture of my collar. (Just another reminder of why I like being on the other side of the camera…)

I was thinking something along the line of the guy who looks down the hose, and the prankster un-kinks it, sending a rush of water into his unsuspecting eye.

…pulled down my background just to lay on it.

"3 Generations"

My Dad, my Son, and myself. Dad came up to take me to a Phillies game for my birthday. They lost, but it was fun to go and we had a great day out. A net positive, for sure.

"Up Past Bedtime"

Up past my bed time, I'm getting a little loopy. I ended up only taking pictures of stupid faces, and this ended up being one of the sanest.

"This is not a Photoshop"

Nope, I just let my tiny clone that I keep inside my phone out for an hour or two every night to keep him from getting cabin fever, and decided to take his picture tonight.

"Happy Birthday to me!"
(94/365) Happy Birthday to me! (by TuttleTree)

So today I'm 27. I had a pretty laid back birthday… I picked dinner (tacos!), and had some pie (peanut butter!).

One of my favorite gifts this year has to be my new Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket iPhone headphones. I wear headphones all the time (train, walking, working, yard work, etc) and I am pretty rough on them to begin with, so the extra durability is awesome; then toss in better sound quality and some moderate noise cancellation, and you've got yourself a winner. At almost $80 for headphones, though, I probably wouldn't have bought them for myself for a long time.

As Megan said, "That's what birthdays are for!"

Are you afraid of the dark?

The execution of this is horrible. That's what happens when you shoot a bunch of stuff based on a concept, and then don't look at it for a few days, and it's supposed to represent you *that day*. Oh well, maybe I'll re-do this one at some point, and try to do a better job.

When I was just a wee lad, one of my favorite TV shows was Are You Afraid of the Dark? I distinctly remember getting chills watching it, and sometimes having to remind myself that it was fictional.

I still kind of freak out when I know I'm the only person home and all of the lights are off. I'm always worried that the shower scene from the end of I Know What You Did Last Summer is going to happen to me.

I know. Very macho of me.

Juice

So I wrote before about how my computer died… sort of. The PSU was a piece of junk (but I did expect it to last longer than 2 months!), so I bought a replacement.

This is the new one, and it is so close to silent that you can hear the difference when you turn the computer on. I'm conditioned to push the power button and then hear the roar of the PSU fans spinning up… if this thing were any more silent it would be … silent.

Remicade

I believe this is the 2nd documented treatment of Remicade of project365 for me. I get it every 6 weeks (generally) but since I took a 16+ week hiatus, I'm sure I missed at least one.

This one was long overdue. My appointment was originally scheduled for March 12th, but due to some insurance complications — We chose to go without insurance for the month of March while waiting for my U Penn insurance to kick in, and get retro-active COBRA if an emergency came up, which thankfully it didn't — I rescheduled for April 8th.

Waiting nearly an extra month was kind of a gamble. Sometimes I feel like I need the treatment (Ha, saying this makes me think of Dollhouse, now!) as my 6 weeks approaches… so going 11 could have been painful. Luckily, I think it was pretty livable with some extra tylenol and not over exerting myself.

Decorating

Look who's been decorating?

Shadow

Taken in the stone foundation for our new patio. Finally, a home improvement project that doesn't involve me busting my back!

My computer was unexpectedly down for a few days (more info below), so although I was taking pictures, I didn't go out of my way to upload them nightly. Here are a few of the ones I missed, more tomorrow (or soon, at least).

Just me.

Still getting the hang of this whole black background thing. Not sure how to get my hair not to blend in without washing out my face. Welcome any tips.

Our power went out for somewhere around an hour this night. When it came back on, my computer's power supply started making unhappy noises.

Luckily I got Newegg to give me a credit to buy a replacement, since this one is only 2 months old.

Without my computer I was feeling very helpless. Not that I would have used it that much on a Friday night anyway, but not having the option can be devestating. Hence the black and white and frown.

Brett Myers will drive a man to drink.

I spent this evening down at a friends house watching the Phillies lose, miserably, to the Braves. Luckily, he had some Sam Adams Winter Lager on hand to ease the pain.
